    platt's lane: hampstead, london

The challenge to better connect the front and rear rooms of a detached house in Hampstead was overcome by removing a dividing wall and inserting a shallow, transparent stair and balustrade. White walls and joinery are mellowed by American black walnut kitchen door fronts, floor and stair coverings. Two new functional-yet-elegant family bathrooms complete the refurbishment of the house on the upper floors. This project was completed in 2008 while at Lipton Plant Architects.
